EstudyLog isn't just a timer—it's an analytics engine. Here is how to feed it the right data to get insights that actually raise your GPA.
1. The Setup
Estimated dates are better than no dates.
Even if you don't know your exact Final Exam date, put in an estimate (e.g., end of the semester). The app uses this date to calculate how much time you need to spend on each topic. Without a date, the "Goal" metrics are just guesses.
Let AI handle the outline.
Don't type topics manually if you don't have to. Paste your syllabus into the Course Outline section. Our model is smart enough to distinguish between a test date and an actual study topic. This unlocks the ability to tag your sessions later.
2. The Calibration
Tag your "Session Types" truthfully.
Are you "Reading," doing an "Assignment," or "Reviewing"? Tagging this accurately lets you see if you are falling into the trap of passive learning (100% reading) vs. active recall.
Rate your focus (The 1-5 Scale).
After every session, you rate your productivity. Be honest—this feeds the "Biological Peak" algorithm.
5 Stars (Indigo): Flow state. High focus. Easy to understand. 4 Stars (Purple): Solid work, minor distractions. 3 Stars: Average. Got it done. 1-2 Stars: Highly distracted or struggled to grasp the concept.
3. The Payoff
Find your "Indigo Hour."
After logging 30-40 sessions, open the Insights tab. Look at the "Time of Day" chart. Find the hours where the bars are tall and Indigo (5/5 rating).
Example: If 4:00 AM – 8:00 AM is always Indigo, that is your biological peak. Schedule your hardest subjects then.
Visualize the invisible labor.
For an ADHD brain, studying feels abstract. The Dashboard Volume Chart makes it concrete. Watch the trend lines. If a week dips low, hold yourself accountable. Filling that chart with data gives you a dopamine hit that is hard to fool and impossible to forget.
